Spring time may remind you of a few things; either you’re starting to see the sun emerge once again and shed those heavy coats, or you’re dreading the daunting and inevitable scour-fest that is spring cleaning. While we can’t help you clean out the fridge or stuff all your winter clothes in some corner of your storage unit, we can effortlessly whip your digital music library into tip-top shape! We’ve thrown together a quick checklist to help you get your music so fresh and so clean.
1. Assess first! See just how dirty your music is with TuneUp’s nifty Analyze tool under the “Clean” tab. You can easily see how much of your collection is clean or dirty before you dig in. Hint: Don’t forget to only “clean” up to 500 songs at once for optimum power!
2. Feel the perma-clean. Clean up missing or mislabeled song information like ‘Track01’ and ‘Unknown Artist’. Simply follow the steps to drag the dirty tracks from your player, drop them into the TuneUp sidebar, and let the magic happen.
3. Everyone can use a little more color in their lives. Get rid of those ugly grey music notes and fill in all the amazing cover artwork you’ve been missing out on. Hint: TuneUp will provide you with up to four covers to apply to each album – just in case you prefer one version from another.
4. Scrub away all the messy duplicate tracks that have been stacking up in your music library and free up some space for even more amazing tunes. Hint: Once a duplicate track is in the TuneUp Duplicates folder, you can either delete the track to completely remove it from your computer’s hard drive, or re-import it into iTunes.
5. Experience the success! Once you have gone through all of your music collection, making it clean and pristine, it’s time for you to relax and enjoy the benefits of a perfectly tidied digital music library — you know you deserve it.
6. Rinse and repeat as needed. Now that your music is in the best shape of its life, use TuneUp as needed to keep everything fresh as you continue to build your collection.
