The core essence of music is human emotion. It is present in the origins, purpose, and effects of musical theory. Whether you are looking to relax, workout, party, get over an ex, or even just clean your house, there is a myriad of music to fit our forever changing situations. As technology is working tirelessly to contort the world to the fit our specific individual desires, it’s only logical that we gain ability to have music selected for us based on our mood.

Have you heard about Stereomood?

Stereomood is a website where you type in the “mood” you are in, or hoping to be in for that matter, and they create a playlist of music that fits your (desired) mood. Simple, yet ingenious, right? What I love about this site on top of the concept is that they do an amazing job of creating a user experience that is filled with personality and creativity. You don’t just have the ability to enter simplistic moods like happy, sad, excited, but you can selected from a plethora of playful tags they have created like “Sunday morning”, “state of hallucination”, or even “sitting on the toilet”. Wonder what that one is all about.

Of course, the playlists aren’t always perfect. But that is part of the fun and evolution of the site as it gives you the ability to be part of a community to give feed back and create new tags creating more accurate playlist.
